From July 6th through August 14th, join us at the library for our annual SUMMER READING PROGRAM! Challenge yourself to read more this summer and take part in a season packed with fun. We’ll have more than 50 FREE events and activities throughout the summer, including visits from exciting special guests.

Earn fun prizes just by reading, you can choose a small prize or choose to enter our FREE weekly or grand prize drawings. Whether you stop by for one event or join us all summer long, there’s plenty happening at the library this summer.

Registration begins June 29th — we can’t wait to see you!

Next time you visit, you might notice things look a little different! We have relocated one of our circulation desks to the High St. entrance to better serve you.  We still have two upstairs desks available to help you check out material, answer questions, or point you in the right direction.

To encourage a love of summer reading, the Book Fairy will be hiding books in local outdoor spaces across Newark over the summer. We invite our young community members to keep an eye out while enjoying the outdoors. If you discover a hidden book, it is yours to keep, read, and share!
